Chicago Police to Allow Stolen Bike Victims Chance to Reclaim Bikes

Chicago Police recovered several bicycles, includes ones described as "high-end touring bicycles" during an arrest on Chicago's West Side on Wednesday. Certain bicycle-theft rings are known by Chicago's bicycle community to operate out of the West Side.

Anyone who has had a bicycle stolen recently may view the recovered bicycles at the Grand Central Area station auditorium, 5555 W. Grand Ave., from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Owners of a stolen bicycle should have a report number, model and serial numbers, or a specific description of items taken, to claim property, police said. I'd add that photographs may also be helpful.
