Kewanee, IL Police Search for Driver in Hit-and-Run of Child

A child was seriously injured while riding his bike last Friday afternoon in the downstate city of Kewanee, Illinois. The child, an 11-year old boy, was reportedly riding his bike down East First Street in Kewanee when he was hit by what has been described as a tan or brownish-colored car. The boy suffered head injuries and was taken via helicopter ambulance for treatment in Peoria.

This is the second hit-and-run collision that was a subject of a post on www.IllinoisBicycleLaw.com today. This collision happened in plain daylight and the fact that the driver fled raises great suspicion as to their responsibility for this matter. Cases like these are not excusable and it is important that those resp0nsible be held accountable. Police in Kewanee are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of the driver of the vehicle.

The attorneys at Keating Law Offices have been able to help many families of victims in cases such as this. It is important to remember that in addition to the criminal justice system, that there are remedies available under the civil justice system.
