News outlets are reporting that 68-year old Yuan Zeng of the Chinatown neighborhood on Chicago's Near South Side has died as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle vs. bicycle accident near Archer and 24th Street. This area is just to the east of the Orange Line station on Halsted Street and is essentially underneath the I-55 junction with I-90/94 (Dan Ryan Expressway).

According to reports, there was a collision between Zeng's bicycle and the passenger side of the vehicle. This collision caused Zeng to strike the vehicle's windshield and then into the roadway. Our thoughts and prayers are certainly with Mr. Zeng's friends and family.
